Alone and Together: Resilience in a Fluid Socio-Technical-Natural System

Disruption to routines is an increasingly common part of everyday life. With the roots some disruptions in interconnectedness world and environmental socio-political instability, there good reason believe that conditions cause widespread disruption will persist. Individuals, communities, systems are thus challenged engage resilience practices deal with both acute chronic disruption. Our interest chronic, resilience, role technology non-technical adaptation engaged by individuals a specific focus on centered nature. Foregrounding nature's allows close examination adversity nature as adaptivity. We add CSCW HCI literature examining long-distance hikers, for whom sources mitigating processes cut across social, technical, environmental.
